Xiaomi 12S Pro Existence Confirmed, Specifications Leaked

The Xiaomi 12 Pro flagship smartphone was launched in China near the end of 2021, and it made its global debut in March 2022. The phone was also launched in India in April. Now, it appears that the company is working on a successor to the device, which will bring some incremental upgrades.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via MyDrivers), a well-known Weibo tipster, Xiaomi is planning to launch the successor to the Xiaomi 12 Pro in the second half of the year, and the device will most likely be called Xiaomi 12S Pro. He has also revealed some of the device's expected specifications.

Xiaomi 12S Pro Specifications Leaked

The Xiaomi 12S Pro, according to the leaks, will feature an upgraded Snapdragon flagship chipset. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC is expected to power the 12S Pro, which is expected to be announced in China on May 20th at a Qualcomm event. The new chipset will be manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process.

In terms of visuals, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will have the same 2K LTPO 2.0 micro curve screen as the 12 Pro. The screen refresh rate will also be 120Hz. In terms of cameras, the phone is expected to have a 50MP triple camera system.

Aside from that, the Digital Chat Station post on Weibo also mentions a small screen flagship phone with Full HD+ resolution and a very friendly size. This could imply that the company intends to release a successor to the Xiaomi 12 or 12X, if not both.

Both the Xiaomi 12 and 12X have a smaller 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Snapdragon 870 chipset powers the Xiaomi 12X, while the Snapdragon 820 chipset powers the Xiaomi 12.
