India vs. Ireland

Indian batsmen received much-needed middle-order time and created the groundwork for the visitors' series-clinching success over Ireland in the second T20I on Sunday in Dublin.

Ruturaj Gaikwad's half-century (58) and valuable middle-order contributions from Sanju Samson (40), Rinku Singh (38) and Shivam Dube (22*) helped India to a difficult 185/5.

Andrew Balbirnie then led the Irish chase with a 51-ball 72, but he didn't get much help as two wickets each by skipper Jasprit Bumrah (2/15), Prasidh Krishna (2/29) and Ravi Bishnoi (2/37) limited the hosts to 152/8, and India triumphed by 33 runs.

Here's what the players from both teams had to say after the game:

JASPRIT BUMRAH

"I'm feeling terrific. Today (the pitch) was a little drier. We assumed it would grow slower, so we batted first...It is difficult to choose an XI; it is a huge headache to have. Everyone is excited, everyone is sure...Everyone eventually needs to work their way up. When you play with the baggage of expectation, you are under pressure. You must set aside your expectations. You are not doing yourself fair if you are performing with so many expectations."

PAUL STIRLING

"We had opportunities. We weren't entirely sure what to make of it. We had positives for all 40 overs. I believe we simply let them get away in the final few overs. Their batters got going quickly and proved difficult to bowl to. We have some things to work on. We can turn things around and maybe win the third T20I."

RINKU SINGH

"I'm in a nice mood. I was attempting to replicate my performance in the IPL. I was confident and tried to remain cool....I'm in a good mood. I've been doing this for ten years. All of my efforts have paid off. "I am honored to receive the 'Man of the Match' award."

ANDREW BALBIRNIE

"They (India) have a very good bowling unit." I'm a little disappointed. We're playing some fantastic cricket. Hopefully, we can put up a stronger performance in the final game. Guys (Irish batters) attempting to hit the opening pitch. Hopefully, we'll be able to cross the finish line on Wednesday...We believe that if we play better, we can beat them."
