Amazon Prime Lite Membership Plan Launched in India

Amazon has launched the Prime Lite membership tier in India. It is a new lower-cost membership with particular consumer perks. The subscription was first available to a small group of users earlier this year, but it is now available to everyone. Everything you need to know about the new plan is right here.

Amazon Prime Lite Membership Plan Pricing

Amazon has set the yearly Prime Lite membership fee at Rs 999. There are currently no monthly or quarterly options available. The price is much lower than the Rs 1499 per year Prime membership fee. However, the benefits differ somewhat enough to justify the price difference.

Amazon Prime Lite Membership Benefits

All Prime Lite members will receive free two-day and standard delivery. To eligible addresses, there will be free no-rush shipping and a Rs 25 cashback. Amazon now provides Morning Delivery to qualifying households for Rs 175 per item. The free standard delivery has no minimum order value.

You can get 5% cash back on all purchases if you have an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card. Digital and gift card purchases, on the other hand, are exempt because they already offer 2% cashback in addition to rewards everywhere else you spend. Customers will also have first access to Lightning discounts, special Lightning Deals, and Deal of the Day for Prime members.

Prime Lite subscription also includes unrestricted access to Amazon's Prime Video streaming service. The only catch is that you may only use it on two devices at a time and stream your favorite movies, TV episodes, and live sports in High Definition (HD) quality with advertising.

Amazon Prime Lite vs Amazon Prime: What is the difference?

The Prime Lite plan lacks a few benefits when compared to Prime membership. The first is faster delivery options such as one-day delivery, planned delivery, and same-day delivery. Morning Delivery is available on purchases as low as Rs 50.

Prime Reading and Amazon Music streaming services are not available with Prime Lite. The former is a service that provides access to eBooks and comic books in a variety of genres and languages. Prime Video access on Prime includes up to 4K streaming, additional device support, and no advertisements in between. Prime members also enjoy No Cost EMI, a 6-month free screen replacement by Acko, special gaming incentives, and special family offers.
