Rumors about the Apple iPhone 14 have begun to circulate. The new iPhone series is set to debut in September of this year. This year, four new iPhone models with 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays are expected to be released. According to the rumour mill, there will be no 5.4-inch mini iPhone. Instead, Apple will launch an iPhone 14 Max with a 6.7-inch display.

The front camera of four new iPhone 14 models in 2H22 would likely upgrade to AF (autofocus) & about f/1.9 aperture (vs. iPhone 13's FF (fixed-focus) and f/2.2).
iPhone 14 Series Front Camera Details
This year, Apple is expected to improve the front camera on the iPhone 14. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will include autofocus in the front camera of the upcoming iPhone. The addition of autofocus to the front camera, as the name implies, will aid in focusing on the subject during FaceTime video calls. It should ideally also improve the front camera's focus when taking selfies in normal or portrait mode.
According to the analyst, the front camera on the upcoming 14 series will have a wider aperture than the current generation models. The iPhone 13 has a front-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.2. The upcoming 2022 iPhone models are expected to include an f/1.9 front camera. A larger aperture may provide better low-light performance and a shallower depth of field. Apple may also release new features that take advantage of the new updates.
In the past, Apple hasn't done much with the front-facing camera on its iPhone models. The improved 12MP front camera can be expected in the 14 series.
