The phone also has a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging and runs Android 12 with Oppo's latest edition of ColorOS on top. The fingerprint sensor is integrated with the power button on the side. The smartphone retains a 3.5mm audio port, which has become increasingly rare in recent years. In terms of dimensions, the Oppo Reno8 4G measures 7.66mm and weighs 182 grams.

The device represents one of an increasing number of 4G phone launches, a trend fueled not only by the global rollout of 5G services. Globally, the supply chain crisis has had the greatest impact on 4G chipsets, resulting in fewer affordable smartphone launches with 4G connectivity.

According to IDC India, this has increased the average selling price of a smartphone in India. According to the company's most recent quarterly smartphone tracker, the average price of a smartphone in India has risen from around Rs 16,500 a year ago to Rs 20,000 in the second quarter of this year.
