Fossil has launched a new smartwatch in the Gen 6 series to compete with the recently launched Google Pixel Watch. The Gen 6 Wellness Edition is Fossil's newly released smart wearable, and it is a health-centric smartwatch with some key design changes and more health-related features.

The software on the smartwatch is another key feature of the device. The new Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition runs on the Wear OS 3 platform, making it the company's first smartwatch to do so. Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition: Price and Availability

The Gen 6 Wellness Edition is priced at US $299 (Rs 24,700) and will be available for purchase on the Fossil website in the United States beginning October 17th. There is no word on when the smartwatch will be available in India.

The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition has a 44mm case and a 1.28-inch display. The watch has two side buttons and a rotating crown that can be used to navigate the UI and access the menu and apps. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 4100+ chipset, which is the same as found in the Gen 6 family.

The Wellness Edition has sleek, curved stainless steel edges that make it look more premium than regular Gen 6 watches. In terms of software, the Gen 6 Wellness Edition is powered by Google's Wear OS 3, which is said to provide a smoother UI similar to the Pixel Watch, which was announced a few days ago. Fossil has added features such as cardio tracking, HR monitoring, SpO2, and Vo2 Max to compete with the Pixel Watch and Fitbit. In addition, the companion Fossil app has been updated.

Additionally, the watch can start workouts automatically based on your movements. According to Android Central, it lacks Google Assistant but includes Alexa. The watch is also compatible with iOS. Other hardware features include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 5, and NFC. It has a one-day battery life and support for fast charging.
