Vivo X90 Pro+ Red Leather Edition Officially Teased in China; Live Photo Already Leaked

Vivo is expected to release the X90 series soon. The Chinese tech behemoth may soon release the X90, X90 Pro, and X90 Pro Plus 5G in China. Rumor has it that the X90 series will be released in December 2022. Vivo has released a new teaser that reveals the rumored design of the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G. The device will be at the pinnacle of the X90 series lineup, with flagship hardware.

The teaser image reveals the design of the rear panel. The phone will be available in red, with possibly faux leather materials. The circular camera module can also be seen sitting on top of the rear panel. A thin horizontal strip runs across the back panel, with the text "Xtreme Imagination" above the Vivo and Zeiss branding.

Vivo X90 Pro+ Live Images

Live images of the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G have leaked hours after the company officially released the teaser, implying that the flagship will be released soon. The image shows a red circular camera module resting on the rear panel. The Zeiss branding is also visible on the right side, above which is the LED flash module.

The device's front could feature a curved AMOLED display with a hole-punch cutout in the top center. We can expect the phone to have thin bezels around the display on all sides.

Some information about the Vivo X90 Pro+ has previously leaked. The new 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch camera sensor, which is also found in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, is said to be found in the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G. The same sensor is expected to be used in the upcoming Xiaomi 13 Pro. According to rumors, Vivo will also release the phone with a 50MP portrait sensor and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera sensor. The telephoto camera will shoot 16MP images with three-exposure staggered HDR and four-in-one pixel binning. The camera setup is also expected to support Dolby Vision for shooting, editing, and viewing, as seen on the iPhone 14.

The new V2 chip, which is Vivo's custom ISP for improving camera performance in low light and portrait mode, will complement the camera sensors.

The phone is also said to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It will have a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Vivo is expected to ship with a 5000mAh battery and support for up to 100W fast charging out of the box.

The X90 series is also expected to include a Dimensity 9200 SoC, which was released on November 8. The new MediaTek flagship SoC could be included in the standard X90.
