MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC is the New Flagship SoC
The new Dimensity 9000+ SoC from MediaTek has been unveiled. The Dimensity 9000 will be replaced as the company's flagship chipset by the new chip. The SoC is built on a 4nm process and has one Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.2GHz. There are three high-performance Cortex-A710 cores and four efficiency Cortex-A510 cores. For graphics, MediaTek has used ARM's Mali-G710 GPU.

The chipset includes an improved Imagiq 790 Image Signal Processor (ISP) with 18-bit HDR video recording support. Users can simultaneously record 18-bit HDR video from three cameras. In addition, the chipset supports a 320MP camera sensor and 4K HDR recording. It can also record videos in 8K resolution at 24 frames per second.
The Dimensity 9000+ SoC supports either a 144Hz WQHD+ or a 180Hz refresh rate panel with Full HD+ resolution. The 5G chipset includes an upgraded network modem and supports Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, and other technologies.

Smartphones equipped with the new MediaTek chipset will be available in the third quarter of 2022. There is currently no official word on which smartphones will use a Dimensity 9000+ SoC.
The chipset was launched around the same time that Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will be available in a few smartphones beginning next month. Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, and iQOO are all expected to launch flagship smartphones with Snapdragon chipsets in July and August 2022.
