Black Adam Release Date, Storyline, Trailer, Cast, and More Information
Black Adam Release Date, Everything you need to know about Black Adam is right here.

After a long wait, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's highly anticipated DC Extended Universe debut is finally set to hit theatres. Black Adam is a spinoff and sequel to the 2019 film Shazam!, starring the wrestling legend and actor as the titular antihero. The film has been in development since the early 2000s, and we're almost ready to see it in theatres. The wizard Shazam's first champion is Black Adam, a powerful being on par with Superman. But, unlike Zachary Levi's heroic counterpart, Adam's morality is often a little more... let's say flexible. The story of Black Adam's return to the mortal world after spending a long time in a magical prison will be told. We can only speculate on what terrible vengeance he has planned for the world.
Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson's new Disney film Jungle Cruise, directed Black Adam. The story was written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. Aside from Adam, the film will also include several beloved Justice Society of America characters, making it a must-see for DC fans. To get you ready for this exciting new DCEU film, we've compiled a list of everything we know so far about Black Adam, from the plot and casting details to film and release dates.
Black Adam Release Date
Black Adam is set to premiere in the United States on July 29, 2022. The film was supposed to hit theatres on December 22, 2021, but that date had to be pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We don't know yet whether the film will be released on HBO Max, as Wonder Woman 1984 was. It appears unlikely, but we won't know for sure until the release date approaches.

About Black Adam Movie (2022)
Enslaved and imprisoned in Kahndaq, Teth-Adam/ Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson) wakes up 5,000 years later in the present-day and is determined to not let anything get in his way. Black Adam is confronted by the Justice Society of America, featuring Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan).
Black Adam is expected to be Shazam's archenemy going forward in the DC Extended Universe.
What Is Black Adam’s Story?
Kahndaq was an oppressive nation that used magic and sorcery to enslave parts of its population during Adam's time. However, after becoming the Champion, Adam used his power to free his people and rule Kahndaq as its king.
Adam was once a hero, but after his family was murdered, he succumbed to darkness and unintentionally unleashed the demons known as the Seven Deadly Sins. He was imprisoned for his crimes, and Black Adam will see him emerge from prison after 5000 years, determined to restore Kahndaq to its former glory.
It is currently unknown how the film relates to Shazam! However, the death of the Wizard may be what allows Adam to escape from his prison. While the plot of the film has yet to be revealed, we can expect to see Black Adam re-establish his kingdom. This could cause the JSA to oppose him, resulting in a conflict between Adam and the superheroes. Given how these stories usually end, a larger threat will most likely emerge, prompting the heroes to band together to save the world.
Black Adam Trailer
While no actual footage from the film has been released, an animated teaser for Black Adam was released during DC FanDome 2020. The trailer includes concept art for the film, as well as the costume Johnson will wear as Black Adam. It also provides a synopsis of the character's origins, rise to power, fall and imprisonment, and return to the world.
Black Adam Cast
Aside from Dwayne Johnson, the cast of Black Adam will include Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan as classic DC characters. Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu are among the other cast members whose roles have yet to be revealed.
Despite the film's ties to Shazam!, Levi and Asher Angel will not reprise their roles as Shazam and Billy Batson in Black Adam. That's just as well because the film appears to have more than its fair share of superheroes.

The film's main character, Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam, is obviously Dwayne Johnson. Adam is a brave and fundamentally heroic person who was born as a slave named Teth-Adam in the nation of Kahndaq. Despite his good intentions, he's a ruthless warrior who would slaughter anyone who gets in his way without hesitation.
In addition to Adam, Shahi will play Adrianna Tomaz, a university professor and resistance fighter in Kahndaq. Adrianna eventually becomes the superhero Isis and marries Black Adam in the comics. She is in charge of taming Adam's violent tendencies and pushing him down more heroic paths. We'll have to wait and see whether the character follows a similar path in the film.
The Justice Society of America, a multigenerational team of superheroes who preceded the Justice League, will also appear in Black Adam. In the comics, the JSA had a large roster of heroes (including Adam), but only a few will appear in the film.

Centineo will take on the role of Atom Smasher, a JSA member with the ability to change his size and density. In Season 2 of The Flash, Adam Copeland played a version of the character.
Hawkman will be played by Hodge. Hawkman, the JSA's leader, is the reincarnation of an ancient Egyptian prince. In this life, he is an archaeologist with wings made of an alien material known as Nth metal. Hawkman is a well-known character who has appeared in comic books, animation, and live-action films. The character was played by Michael Shanks in Smallville and by Falk Hentschel in The CW’s Arrowverse.
Swindell portrays Cyclone, another JSA member. She is the original Red Tornado's granddaughter. Cyclone has the power to control wind and sound. Her spot on the team was originally meant to be taken by Hawkgirl but the character was ultimately dropped from the movie.
As Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate, Pierce Brosnan completes the JSA cast. Nelson is an archaeologist's son who was chosen by the Helmet of Fate to become a magical superhero and defend the world from the forces of chaos. In case you're wondering, Doctor Fate debuted 23 years before Doctor Strange, so he's not a knockoff of Marvel's Sorcerer Supreme. Brent Stait played the character in Smallville, and he has appeared in a number of DC animated shows and games.
The film will also feature the imaginatively named Intergang, an international gang of criminals. In addition, Bodhi Sabongui will reportedly play an unnamed key character from the Black Adam comics.

In April 2021, principal photography on Black Adam began in Atlanta, Georgia. The film was supposed to start filming in July 2020, but the coronavirus outbreak caused a delay.
On July 15, 2021, Johnson announced that he had finished filming his scenes and that the film had officially wrapped. For a few weeks after that, some filming for the film continued without Johnson, shifting to Los Angeles. On July 25, executive producer Dany Garcia confirmed this, saying, "We haven't wrapped yet, so we still have a few weeks." [Dwayne] wrapped up, so that's a wrap. Black Adam was encased. But we have a lot of really good things going on that will actually continue in LA."
