Sony's WH-1000XM5 noise cancelling headphones were just released in India today. The WH-1000XM5 is the company's latest flagship headphones, which were launched globally in May. Last week, the company teased the arrival of India. Sony's new headphones feature improved active noise cancellation (ANC), a new design, a longer battery life, a 30mm audio driver setup, and many other features.

The Sony headphones are now available for pre-order on Amazon, with the device expected to be available and shipping on October 8th. Because it is the holiday season, the Sony WH-1000XM5 is discounted during the pre-order period. The price is approximately Rs 5,000 less than the global price.

Sony WH-1000XM5: Price in India and Availability

Pre-orders for the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones are now available on Amazon for Rs 26,999. This is a pre-order price, and the headphones will be available at a higher price after the pre-order period ends. Pre-orders for the headphones are now available on Amazon. There are two color options available: black and silver.

Sony WH-1000XM5: Features and Specifications

The Sony WH-1000XM5 over-the-ear headphones are Bluetooth 5.2 compatible. A large 30mm dynamic driver unit powers the audio product, which supports SBC, AAC, and LDAC audio formats as well as A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, and HSP sound profiles. These headphones include DSEE Extreme, an AI-based process that restores detail and clarity from lossy compressed formats.

Sony has included the new V1 processor, which enables the HD Noise Cancelling processor QN1. In terms of design, the 1000XM5s are now more cylindrical, and the new earcups can rotate sideways but not inwards like the previous generation. There are eight microphones to provide excellent noise cancellation. The WH-1000XM5 also supports Hi-Res audio wireless and Hi-Res audio.

In terms of battery life, they can last up to 30 hours with ANC turned on and up to 40 hours with ANC turned off for music. These numbers are reduced to 24 and 32 hours for calls. A full charge takes about 3.5 hours, and charging is done through a USB Type-C port.

Other features on select Sony TVs include quick attention mode, quick access to music with two or three taps, Google Assistant, Google Fast Pair, multipoint connection, touch controls, Dolby Atmos, and 360 Spatial Sound.

Sony WH-1000XM5 vs Competition

Sony's new WH-1000XM5 will compete with the Bose Quietcomfort 45, the recently launched Sennheiser Momentum 4, and Sony's own WH-1000XM4. Active noise cancellation is available on all of the headphones. The Bose QC 45 has a battery life of up to 24 hours, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 has a battery life of up to 60 hours, and the WH-1000XM4 has a battery life of up to 30 hours. The Momentum 4 costs Rs 34,999, the Bose QC 45 costs Rs 29,990, and the Sony 1000XM4 costs Rs 24,990.
