Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro Quick Look

Soon after its global debut at MWC 2022, the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro landed in India. The rapid rollout in India shows that Samsung is serious about the market. The good news is that the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro comes with all of the bells and whistles that one would expect from a laptop in this price bracket. This one is a beast because it is powered by the 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and has Intel's Evo certification.

The design, obviously, is the main attraction, and it should appeal to youthful people searching for an ultra-portable laptop at this price. Furthermore, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is available in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch display sizes to appeal to a broader audience.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, which starts at Rs 106,990, is a strong alternative for anyone searching for a reliable Windows laptop that's ultra-thin and light enough for everyday use. But, in the short time, we had with this laptop, there were a few aspects we liked and some we thought could have been better. To find out, keep reading our first impressions.

Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro: What are the best-sellers

This laptop has pleased us in a variety of ways, from the moment we got the Galaxy Book 2 Pro out of the box to the point when we are penning this first impression. Of course, the design is the first thing that catches the eye. It weighs less than a kilogram and is only 11.2mm thick, giving it a small form factor to compete with your phone.

In India, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is available in only two colours: silver and graphite. There is currently no Burgundy option. We expect Samsung to launch the Burgundy colour option in India shortly, and it's also the Galaxy Book 2 Pro's preferred colour when it comes to choosing the best one out of the three. The Silver colour isn't awful in any way, and it comes with an attractive white keyboard.

The Galaxy Book 2 Pro is Samsung's thinnest laptop to date, and you have to see it to believe it. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro, in our opinion, should appeal to youthful consumers due to its elegant appearance and the overall package. Furthermore, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is significantly lighter than the Apple MacBook Air M1. And we can say that with more certainty because we tested both laptops side by side, and the difference is significant.

Aside from the appearance, the display should appeal to anyone who enjoys watching multimedia content on their personal laptop. The 13.3-inch AMOLED Full-HD (19201080 pixels) display is gorgeous and provides an excellent cinematic experience for videos, movies, photos, and everything else you can imagine. In our evaluation, we will go over the display in great detail.

The full-size keyboard was our next favorite feature. The corporation offers a well-equipped island-type backlit keyboard that is fantastic for typing and a dependable trackpad with precision for picture editing. The Galaxy Book 2 Pro can also handle graphically demanding applications such as picture and video editing. In the brief time we had with this laptop, it proved to be powerful enough to do 3D rendering work. However, we will reserve our performance evaluation until we have extensively tested the Galaxy Book 2 Pro.

To manage communication, it includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1 compatibility. The battery performed admirably during the initial tests. The 63Wh battery appears to be sufficient for the Galaxy Book 2 Pro's day-to-day activities. Fast-charging support is game-changing for laptops, and the Galaxy Book 2 Pro benefits from it. However, as previously stated, the judgment on the battery will be delayed until our comprehensive evaluation.

Other features we enjoyed were the fingerprint scanner incorporated into the power button and the 65W USB Type-C adaptor. Overall, the bundle appears to be suitable for even the most powerful users.

Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro: What are the shortcomings

One major drawback of an ultra-thin form factor is the lack of connecting connectors. Yes, the Galaxy Book 2 Pro is no exception. The laptop has one Thunderbolt 4, one USB Type-C, one 3.2 Type-C, one HDMI, one microSD card reader, and one headphone jack. One of the two Type-C ports is used for charging, so you only have one option that is always available. It's a compromise that we must all accept in order to get a small form factor.

The thick bezels around the panel were the second major disappointment for us. Laptop designs have progressed to the point that displays now provide more screen space for a more immersive experience. To attain that immersive experience with its premium laptop range, we believe Samsung should have significantly decreased the bezels around the display.

Initial Thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro is the latest entry into the premium laptop market, and it has enough features to satisfy even the most ardent users. The design and ultra-thin form factor are two of the most notable features, while the 12th Gen Intel i7 processor keeps the laptop from feeling sluggish. However, we believe the Galaxy Book 2 Pro outperforms its rivals in terms of the overall package. The good news is that the company has its heart in the right place, and we now have a terrific MacBook Air M1 competition in India at roughly the same price point.
