Not only will there be technical improvements, but there will also be storyline updates.

Last night's State of Play included a slew of exciting new announcements, but perhaps the most exciting of them all was Resident Evil 4 for the PlayStation 5. The new title is a complete remake of the iconic 2004 title, and it will be launched on the PlayStation 5 in 2023.
Edvin Edso (Promotion Producer, Capcom) explains in the PlayStation Blog post that the game will not only receive state-of-the-art technical improvements – but will also have its storyline reimagined. Resident Evil 4 will have modern graphics and updated controls to better match the game standards expected in 2023.
The reveal trailer is a stunning improvement over the original, with breathtaking visuals and what appears to be an updated colour palette.

By introducing mechanics that have since become a staple of the genre, such as the over-the-shoulder camera, the original 2005 title was instrumental in revolutionising the modern third-person shooter. Many consider Resident Evil 4 to be the franchise's pinnacle and a true modern classic.

It was only a matter of time before the RE4 remake became a reality, thanks to Capcom's continued success with Resident Evil remakes. The developers will be under a lot of pressure to deliver a game that is as good as the original, which is a tall order for any studio.
Capcom, on the other hand, has shown exceptional skill in remakes, with the Resident Evil remakes being among the best. When the game is released in March 2023, it will be interesting to see what kind of control updates and visual overhauls the developers have planned.
