Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi Note 12 series in its home market. The Redmi Note 12 series includes four devices: the Redmi Note 12, the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and the Redmi Note 12 Explorer. The global variants of the Redmi Note 12 and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ have been spotted on the IMEI database, courtesy of Xiaomiui.

According to Xiaomiui, the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ global variants are codenamed Ruby, the same as their Chinese counterparts. This means that the global variants of the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will be the same as the Chinese variants. Let us look at the specifics.

The model numbers 22101316G and 22101316UG for the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G were found in the IMEI database. This confirms that the Redmi Note 12 Pro series for international markets will be identical to the Chinese counterparts. However, the Redmi Note 12 Pro series devices are expected to launch in India under the Xiaomi brand.

For those who are unaware, recent reports indicate that the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ will be released in India as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. The vanilla Note 12 Pro is expected to make its debut in India as the Xiaomi 12i. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ Chinese variants as the Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India last year.

The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor powers the Redmi Note 12 Pro series devices. The Dimensity 1080 was recently announced and is built on TSMC's 6nm processor. These phones have 120Hz OLED display panels with Full HD+ resolution, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a peak brightness of 900nits. The display panel is both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certified.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro has a 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX766 sensor and OIS. It comes with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. The Note 12 Pro+, on the other hand, features a 200MP camera with a Samsung HMX sensor and OIS. The Note 12 Pro+, like the Note 12 Pro, has a 2MP macro camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

For video calls and selfies, the Redmi Note 12 series smartphones use 16MP camera sensors. Both of these devices are powered by 5000mAh batteries. The Note 12 Pro is compatible with 67W fast charging. The Note 12 Pro+, on the other hand, supports 120W fast charging. There is also a Note 12 Explorer with 210W fast charging, but it does not appear that it will be available in global markets.
