The iPhone 14 series was launched at the Far Out Apple event. The company unveiled four new iPhone models. These include the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are the most affordable models in Apple's latest iPhone lineup. In case you were wondering, there is no 14 mini this time around. Iterative upgrades have been made to the new non-Pro iPhone models.

The 14 Plus is a larger version of the standard model with a larger display and battery. Let's take a look at the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus price in India, specifications, and other details ahead of the launch.

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus: India Price

The iPhone 14 series was launched with a variety of storage options. The vanilla 14's base model costs $799 (roughly Rs 63,600) and has 128GB of internal storage. In comparison, the 14 Plus starts at $899 (roughly Rs 71,600) for the base 128GB model.

Both phones are available in five different colors: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and PRODUCT Red. The iPhone 14 will be available beginning September 16, while the 14 Plus will be available beginning October 7.

A New Plus Model

Apple launched the iPhone 14 Plus as its new non-Pro large-screen iPhone. The larger 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR display on the 14 Plus provides more screen estate while providing 1200 nits of peak brightness. The new Plus model also has better thermal management.

The standard 14 model has the same features as the Plus model and has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. Both models have a large notch for the Face ID sensors and front camera.

Bigger Battery

The iPhone 14 series, according to Apple, has all-day battery life. The 14 Plus has a battery life that Apple claims are the best of any iPhone. Apple has not disclosed the battery capacity of its new models.

Larger Camera Sensors

The iPhone 14 series gets a new 12MP camera sensor. Yes, the megapixel count is the same as in the 13 series, but the 14 series has larger sensors. The larger sensor is said to improve low-light camera performance by up to 49%. There is also a secondary 12MP ultrawide camera. There's also a new 12MP front-facing camera with an f/1.9 aperture.

In terms of features, the iPhones now have a new action mode for better video recording on the go. Apple has also worked to improve Deep Fusion for better low-light performance and detail. Users can expect up to a 2.5x improvement in photos taken with the main camera and a 2x improvement in photos taken with the ultrawide and front cameras.

Other Specifications 

The A15 Bionic chip from the iPhone 13 Pro series is found under the hood. This processor contains six CPU cores and five GPU cores.

The iPhone models also include an Emergency SOS via Satellite feature. The feature, as the name implies, uses satellites orbiting the Earth to help users connect to emergency services in areas where there is no network. The service will be free for two years after purchase. Currently, the feature is only available to users in the United States and Canada. Finally, the latest iPhones ship with iOS 16.
